Powers of Health & Safety Representatives (HSR) guidance note

Overview

A draft of the Powers of Health and Safety Representatives guidance note is now open for comment.

The guidance note seeks to explain the powers of HSR’s under the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006 and how HSRs may exercise these powers. It also seeks to assist facility operators and employers meet their legal obligations for HSRs.

NOPSEMA encourages all interested stakeholders to have their say prior to the publication of the guidance note. Operators and employers are strongly encouraged to work with their own HSR’s to review the guidance note and develop relevant comments.

All comments are to be submitted via email to safetycaseguidance@nopsema.gov.au by no later than COB Monday, 2 December 2019.
